About The Dairyman's Daughter
The Dairyman’s Daughter is a ‘proper’ pub here on the Isle of Wight. Decorated in authentic, traditional memorabilia that reflect its rural surroundings, it is at the heart of Arreton Barns, the Island’s largest arts and crafts village.
The pub is the perfect pit stop after visiting the shops and artisans around the site and during the summer months, the pretty courtyard is a wonderful suntrap. So grab a table and enjoy home-cooked food from our extensive menu and a drink from our well-stocked bar.
We are open every day with our breakfast menu available from 9:30, and our main menu served from 12:00-21:00.
Many of the dishes on the main menu are adaptable for specific dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. There is also a full children’s menu for little ones in your group. Dessert lovers will want to take a look at the sundae menu, with flavours that are sure to appeal to everyone.
Our History
The Dairyman’s Daughter is named after Elizabeth Wallbridge.
She was a local girl who died in 1801 and was made famous by the book ‘Annals of the Poor’.
She is buried in the village churchyard alongside a 12th-century church, located just past the carp pond at Arreton Barns.

Food is a key feature at the pub, where possible, our talented chefs use the best of local ingredients and products.
This extends to our bar with local ales on tap and spirits on offer too.
Muddy boots & well behaved dogs welcome
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome at the Dairyman’s Daughter inside and out.
We do ask that owners ensure dogs are under control at all times and that walkways are kept clear for staff walking around with hot drinks and food so that they can pass easily.
