Summer Funday Raises £2500 for The Wight Brainy Bunch

Last month’s Summer Fun Day at Arreton Barns raised a staggering £1,250 for Island-based charity, The Wight Brainy Bunch. Families descended upon the sunny Arreton Barns on Sunday 28th July for a wonderful Summer Funday filled with traditional fairground games, quirky stalls, live music and entertainment. Donations were collected on the day, and a portion of the money taken at stalls went towards the proceeds. The Wight Brainy Bunch provides life-changing financial assistance to patients undergoing treatment for brain tumours, as well as establishes support networks for the patients and families affected by the disease. Quayside Pubs Walk 870 Miles for Prostate Cancer UK!

From Good Friday to Easter Sunday, staff at The Bargeman’s Rest, The Dairyman’s Daughter and The Steamer Inn put on their walking shoes to march a total of 1,744,405 steps, or roughly 870 miles, to help Quayside Leisure raise £1,168.81 for Prostate Cancer UK. Throughout March, which also marks Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, visitors to the three Quayside Leisure pubs (The Bargeman’s Rest, The Dairyman’s Daughter and The Steamer Inn) were given the opportunity to guess the overall number of steps that were taken at each location over Easter weekend, with the closest answer winning a free meal for two at the pub where they entered. We’re a few days into our new opening schedule, and the team here at the Dairyman’s Daughter has enjoyed welcoming you all. We’ve been busy making sure our outside seating area is ready, and while we will try to stay open as much as possible, the weather may have other ideas. Just come prepared for chilly days, showers and even the sun… It’s a typically British time of year.
